As far as updates are concerned, I've been a complete mess lately (could be due to Halo 2). Here's some scoop: Farewell Radiance is out and is being greeted with praise and accolades. The discs look and sound amazing. Check out their site to find out how to get your copy. Torn Asunder has been picked up so that's great news for those guys as well. Some great projects in the works right now: Aequilibria, Bud Lisevick, Silktown Flyers (formerly the T-Baggs), Oceans A Fire and Full Logic. I expect to see Farewell Radiance back in the studio in July to hammer out 2-3 more tracks for bonus material and promo and July will also see a group called Half-Thought. Also, check out the My Space account for Will Beale here.

So I started the updates on the 14th but got seriously side-tracked and am now getting back to finishing them. Oh well. K, Torn Asunder complete...said that already. Hmm...a couple new projects in the works; Bob Pepek, an accomplished singer/songwriter will be developing his songs with us as well as with some session players he's bringing in. This looks to be very enjoyable and rewarding for everyone who will be involved. Session player names to follow shortly. A gentleman by the name of Frank Lisevick will be in doing some preproduction work tonight for his upcoming EP release. Looking forward to this one as well. As a matter of fact, I look forward to all the projects we work on so I'm not going to say that every time anymore. I'll be wrapping up Chris Zumpe's project in the next couple weeks (honestly, I mean it this time). Unfortunately the driving force behind completion is his impending move to the south; he will be truly missed. He and the studio have both grown together over the last couple years and it'll be sad to not have him come in every couple months. On a lighter note, Endiya was in Saturday to record some tracks. A couple covers and a...um, an "original". Check them out at one of their shows to figure out what I mean. Someone's poor mom...
A couple other updates, our in-house video suite is in full effect. Rich McCollum and 'Splitting Images' are pumpin out projects left and right. Check out the site link and let him show you what he can do with your dusty old video footage. He's in the process of putting together an in studio video for Torn Asunder. Cool stuff man. Also, due to heavy client request, we've made wireless high speed internet available to all of our (paying) customers. You get a WEP password to the network with your initial $10,000.00 deposit.

Ahhh! Just under the 1 month between posts wire. Things definatley moving along and progressing nicely around here. Torn Asunder is DONE. Thank god. It was sincerely a treat to work with these clowns, definately an enjoyable project. Went up to Cabbot St last week to check out round 2 of the "Battle for Rock Fest" train wreck. Congrats to Adam's Rib for "winning". Also DBD for making it that far, although I think they shot themselves in the sack by leaving the Red Neck out of the fun.

Shamefully I admit, it's been quite a while since a band moved into the studio for some full-on, hot hardcore album tracking action. Nothing short of just that has been Torn Asunder. It's refreshing indeed to walk into the studio the following morning after 3am sessions to be greeted by the mild pungency of sweaty men, half-empy (or full) beer bottles, Gatorade, Red Bull and stacks of food containers from various fast-food runs and pizza deliveries. Never again, Big Tang. And to make things a little better I realize that there's only the white saltwater taffy left which, as I now know is like chewing on a scentless candle. But these are all the good things that make you realize why it is musicians do the things they do. Like Torn Asunder, who in under 2 weeks have ripped through everything except vocals on 8 songs...even with the Conan-like crescendos and Viking build-ups. I digress. These guys kick some serious face and I'm still pumped (even with the sweaty men thing) to be working this one. Yeah, rammed it.
Farewell Radiance. There's nothing more to say...it's done and back! J(eigh)ay Bone and I shot up to Bean Town Monday to the digustingly off the hizzy M-Works for the Master Blastering. And Blast did they ever. Jonathan Wiener used every knob possible to polish this little dirt-sack and I'm pleased to say that it's just an elephantitis of a record. Look for it out there soon, where ever there ends up being.

Ok, wtf? Torn Asunder started laying tracks last night and holy s...7 drum tracks complete? Talk about blowing through it. I'm pumped to be working on this project. Great metal (Steve) band. Tonight Rich will be in shooting some footage for an in-studio video that'll go on a CD extra, or their website, or whatever they want to do with it. We'll keep you posted on this as it develops as well as other things going on this month. I like em, they're crazy.

I'll start with projects completed in February: Dead By Dawn (2 song, check it out on their site), The Aze, Soul Shine, Adam's Rib (you can hear one of their new songs on our samples page). Trying to tie up loose ends so we can focus on what's coming up. Should be finishing Chris Zumpe's project soon. We had Brian O'Connel in to lay a couple more tracks on bass and stick. Soul Shine was lots of fun; great blues music. We will be starting 8 songs for an upcoming FL release for Torn Asunder. It's great to have these guys coming in!
Also, welcome to Rich McCollum who will be doing lots of video production based out of our growing facility. We're VERY excited about this huge addition.

I'll start with projects completed in the last few months: Earthset, Akashic Record, Farewell Radiance. In The Works: Dead By Dawn, The Aze, Soul Shine, Adam's Rib, Torn Asunder, Vivid. Thanks to Chris Loin for coming by to lend his expertise on the Akashic sessions. Check out all the new stuff in the mp3 samples section.
Studio additions: MORE wiring, amp room improvements, Focusrite Twintrak Pro added, 421 U5s and some Beyer Dynamic mics added. All this translates into "better for you". Don't compromise your vision...we're as inexpensive as your buddy in the garage with an 8 input Pro Tools LE setup, but as good as the 100/hr rooms in Boston. Take our word for it? Nope...come by and see for yourself!

Peace out 2004. My studio predictions came true...banner year. This is only because of the great talent we had the pleasure of working with so thank you to all who came by to make some great music with us. Stay tuned in 2005; it's going to be ever better!
